About AOM
For over 15 years, you’ve known AOM as a CGH supplier for some of the world’s most challenging and precise optical engineering projects.
Today, we aim to bring precision metrology to a broader set of applications and engineering challenges. Complex optics are used more widely than ever before – and at levels of precision and production volumes that seemed impossible just a few years ago. The challenges that today’s applications face are on par with the biggest space telescope projects of the past, but with a fraction of the budget and extremely tight timelines to complete.
AOM is bringing new and novel solutions to optics projects and programs to address this new world of optics production. We are enabling a new level of precision and ease of use for complex optics metrology from surface figure error of aspheres, freeforms, and off-axis sections to optical system alignment and a range of engineering services that can be leveraged to build complete metrology solutions for applications from volume production to high-value one-off systems.
The future of optics is bright. AOM is your optical metrology partner to realize the future!
AOM is a member of and has deep connections with ASPE, SPIE, Optica (formerly OSA), and Optics Valley.

Quality Policy
Arizona Optical Metrology, LLC (AOM) was established in 2009 to provide a range of custom products and services for measuring complex optical surfaces and systems. We are based in Tucson, AZ, USA.
Quality is important to our business because we value our customers. We strive to provide our customers with products and services that meet and even exceed their expectations.
We are committed to continuous improvement and are actively formalizing our long-standing quality culture into a Quality Management System to provide a framework for measuring and improving our performance.
Our internal procedures are reviewed regularly and will be held in a “Quality Manual” made available to all employees.
Although the President has ultimate responsibility for quality, all employees have a responsibility within their own areas of work to help ensure that quality is embedded within the whole of the company.

Happy National Intern Day!
This summer, we’ve been lucky to have Sam Hardeman join us as a software intern. A Grand Canyon University student and avid hiker, Sam spent the past few months building a CGH database and user interface to support our internal workflows—and he tackled it with skill,...
What is a Computer-Generated Hologram (CGH)?
A CGH (computer-generated hologram) enables the measurement of complex optics, such as aspheres and freeforms, using an off-the-shelf interferometer. Find out how a CGH works, how it's made, and how it can simplify and reduce the cost of optical testing in our new...
Behind the Scenes of the Rubin Telescope: How AOM Helped Shape the Sky’s Sharpest Eye
The Vera C. Rubin Observatory recently released its breathtaking first images, opening a new era for deep-sky exploration. Originally called the Large Synoptic Survey Telescope (LSST), Rubin will build an unprecedented dataset of the universe, a collection of...
